INTRODUCTION
DiVino Wine Studio and Enoteca is our newly born event space and restaurant in the heart of Ottawa's Little Italy!
Open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner and anytime for group events and receptions, we feature a delicious menu of antipasti (Italian small plates), in addition to a few main dishes changing daily, and of course, 'rivers' of wine! For private functions, we have an extensive selection of items all collected in the 'banquet menu'.
At DiVino, you can dine in the open kitchen, or in our main seating area at one of our wooden tables, overlooking at the 'cantina', a large wine display organized by regions of Italy. Or spend some time in the wine and food study corner, including the wine tasting area with Enomatic wine tasting stations, the modern state-of-the-art wine serving system, made in Italy (Greve in Chianti). Or entertain your guests in our private tasting and meeting room that can be rented any day of the week, any time of the day.
At the Studio we are always busy. Our calendar of events is always full of activities that are highly educational, casual and entertaining. Including wine courses, food seminars, as well as cooking classes merge theory with hands-on activities. Experience cooking and tasting in a professional wine and culinary studio, always guided by professional chefs, sommeliers and guest speakers.
The educational aspect of the business is also complemented by our wine and culinary tours, plus Italian language courses all meant to enrich the experience of travelers and wine and food lovers.

My girlfriend and I visited Divino on the weekend for her birthday and had a fantastic time. We really enjoyed the effort made by the staff to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. They've only been open a short time, but I can see them becoming a fixture on Preston Street fairly quickly. It was fantastic. The food (tapas-style appetizers) and the wine selection was amazing and the service was unbelievably good.

What does DIVINO mean?
In Italian, DIVINO is a combination of two words: ‘di' and 'vino’, which literally translate to: ‘of/about wine’.
For example: ‘Oggi parliamo di vino’ = Today we talk about wine’
Also ‘divino’ means ‘divine’, which reflects the idea of the beauty and supernatural effects of a good meal paired with the perfect glass of wine. A divine experience!
What is a WINE STUDIO and WHY?
Antonio, the owner, was always attracted by the word 'STUDIO'. It reminds him of something artistic, like the knowledge, the passion and the creation of food and wine.
Ottawa's first Wine Studio is an event space where dining, learning, and entertaining go side by side.
What is an ENOTECA? (Read Eh-noh-TECK-a)
Literally it translates: “place where wines are kept”.
The Enoteca is DiVino Wine Studio's main room, with an open kitchen, the Chef's Table and a wall-to-wall wine display.
In Italy enotecas are everywhere and they are the modern concept of a wine store, wine cellar, and small restaurants serving small portions, local ingredients, always accompanied with a glass of wine. They are generally very relaxed and casual in atmosphere and attitude. Foods are served to complement the wines and enhance the conversation.
Ottawa's first Enoteca is an elegant open concept restaurant. A place that stimulates conversation about Italian culture with old and newly found friends.
Can I rent DiVino Wine Studio for a private event?
Yes. Any day of the week. Our in-house team of event planners will help you making the best out of your special occasion or corporate retreat.
If I want to dine at the Restaurant one evening, can I just show up or do I have to make a reservation?
Due to the many activities and private events that we host, we strongly advise to call for reservations, expecially on weekends. (613-221-9760 ext 24)
When are you open?
The Restaurant is open to diners from Tuesday through Saturday from 5:30pm. Please, remember to call in advance.
The premise is always availlable for group meals, meetings, events, or rentals.
Do you have A/V equipment available?
Yes, in all rooms there is a ceiling mounted projector, screen, DVD player and all the necessary connections for your laptop to host a presentations or to show your latest travel's photos to your friends during dinner!
Do you have Internet connection?
Yes, wireless.
What makes DiVino innovative?
The open concept, with a mix of modern, vibrant feature (metropolitan style) and traditional old world details (the kitchen, the wine cellar and the furniture). The library of reference where one can find wine and food books and the Enomatic wine-by-the-glass-system are also innovative features. Moreover, the open kitchen stimulates conversation with the Chefs and it is a heaven for food lovers, who can watch how their dishes are prepared and cooked!
Where are you located?
We are located at 225 Preston Street, in the heart of Little Italy, Ottawa’s trendy Italian neighbourhood. You can find us on the East side of Preston St., north of the Queensway, in between Somerset and Gladstone.
Do you have parking?
There is a small parking lot on the back of our building (Balsam St.). You can also park on Preston Street (meters, weekdays until 5pm) or on the adjacent roads (free).
What kind of food do you serve at the restaurant and how often does the menu change?
We are an Italian focused establishment serving modern, regional Italian 'enoteca food', consisting in a number of small plates, cheeses, cured meats, and a few entrees (the daily specials, heartier portions). Patrons will find that the menu changes periodically, depending on what's best and freshly available in season, or in theme with a region of Italy.
How long have you been open?
Antonio Mauriello founded DiVino Wine Studio Inc. in 2005 and operated the business by running Italian wine and culinary events in several prestigious locations in Ottawa, such the Chelsea Club and Billings Estate.
In May 2008, he opened the location on Preston Street.
Can I organize a wine tasting for my group of friends or clients?
Yes. You can do it or you can let us do it! Organize a private wine class for your group, with one of our Sommeliers as your personal wine educator and your guide!
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes, in any amount. Call 613-221-9760 ext 30 or email us at bookings@divinowinestudio.com. We can mail gift certificates with gift cards and menus for your convenience.
We also sell 'wine tasting cards', a very unique idea for a gift certificate.
What is your dress code?
DiVino has a dress code best describes as "smart casual." Please refrain from wearing perfumes as this interferes with the smelling and tasting of wine.
Can the chef do tasting menus?
Yes, please let us know in advance if you are interested.
Are there vegetarian or vegan dishes?
Yes, normally to order. The chef makes every effort to accommodate all dietary restrictions. Advance notice when making a reservation is most helpful.
Can we bring our own bottle of wine?
Only for special prebooked events with groups requiring this service. A corkage fee of $15 will be charged.
What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash, Debit, Visa, Mastercard, American Express.

POLICY AND REGULATIONS for courses, cooking classes, and seminars
Location
Unless otherwise indicated, courses and seminars are held at DiVino Wine Studio on 225 Preston St.
Food Allergies
We cannot guarantee an allergy-free environment. Please let us know in advance if you have any concerns, in order for us to be able to make the proper arrangements.
Requirements
• Registrants to educational activities involving use and consumption of alcohol, must be at least 19 years of age
• Out of courtesy toward the other participants, please avoid wearing strong perfumes, which interfere with the bouquets of wine and the flavours of food.
Taxes and gratuities
Unless otherwise specified, we will add to your final bill all the applicable taxes and a 18% fee, including gratuity and event management.
Cancellation Refund Policy
All classes, courses, seminars and some special events must be booked in advance as well as paid in full. If you cannot attend an event, you can send someone in your place.
The cancellation policy is as follows:
• Two week prior to the start of your class, a refund will be provided, less an administrative charge of 15% of the event fee.
• There is no refund if cancellation is made after this pre-course period.
If DiVino Wine Studio should have to cancel a class due to insufficient registration or unforeseen circumstances, registrants will be notified and provided with a complete refund.
