Kathy Dobbin is a long-time resident of the Glebe. As young as aged nine and into her teens, she attended the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Childrens’ school run by the Group of Seven’s Arthur Lismer where she was awarded a prize in an International Children’s Art Competition. She majored in Fine Arts at Concordia University. From the early 1980s and into the 90s, Kathy studied life drawing and watercolour painting with the Ottawa artist and teacher Ellie Kish, as well as prolifically producing stained glass. Lately, Kathy has been studying with locally-known artist and teacher, Nancy Myron.
Kathy has sold a number of paintings, including commissions and through several vernissages and exhibits. Her work covers a variety of subjects, including city scapes and Italian landscapes.
