Single Malt Scotch Tasting
A capacity crowd gathered on March 4th for an international whisky tasting, with gems from Japan, Ireland, the US, Canada and, of course, Scotland. All whisky is an alcoholic beverage produced from grains and water, but between harvesting the grain and pouring something deliciously interesting into a glass, a lot of different things happen. In addition to sampling, we followed some of the processes and techniques used in different countries and distilleries to produce various versions of uisge beatha, aqua vitae, the water of life - call it what you will. The event sold out very quickly.
Please join us for our next Scotch tasting on Thursday, May 27th. After traveling the whisky globe in March, we'll be back in Scotland for this one. Expect great Single Malt Scotches, fabulous whisky friendly tasting plates, good company and a little education. Whether you’re new to Scotch or a lifetime appreciator, our Scotch expert, Carol Anderson, will delight you with her Scotch knowledge and passion for her national spirit. Carol will be recently returned from another trip to Scotland, with more treasures and tales to share with whisky enthusiasts.

No other country is more closely associated with olive oil than Italy. The olive tree was introduced into southern Italy by Greeks circa 600 BC, but it was the Romans who spread olive culture throughout the Mediterranean and mastered its cultivation and extraction. So cherished was olive oil that by the 4th Century AD, the City of Rome, itself, had 2,300 olive oil distributors!
Today Italy boasts more olive oil DOPs than any other country. (DOP=Denominazione Origine Protetta)
